2004 Toronto
ASNA’s 2004 convention was held from January 9th to 11th at the Hilton in Toronto. The convention, finance and publicity committees did a great job organising this educational and fun weekend. More than 330 actuarial students from all across Canada attended the convention this year, as well as about 50 representatives from actuarial employers.
The convention’s theme this year was "Traditional & Emerging Actuarial Fields: A guide through the market". Students had the opportunity to hear speakers on a variety of topics along this them.

The recipients of ASNA’s 2004 Canadian Involvement Award were also chosen and announced at the convention. The students chosen for this award were:
1st place: Ziad Semaan, Université du Québec à Montréal
2nd place: Diana Chisholm, University of Waterloo
3rd place: Évelyne Giguère, Concordia University

The activities of the convention included a club night, a semi-formal dinner and a casino night, where a DVD player, a Sony Atrac CD player and a Sony Minidisc player were given away. Another lucky draw was made at the closing ceremony, and the winner was Baiyu Chen from Concordia.
