Meet the 2014-2015 Executives

Isabel Ji, President

Isabel Ji, President

Hello everyone! My name is Isabel, and I’m a third-year Actuarial Science and Economics student at the University of Waterloo. This is my third year of involvement with ASNA—in the past, I have served as VP Ontario, and as a delegate of the Convention Committee.

This year, in conjunction with the CIA and our web team, I aim to bring the ASNA job portal to life for the benefit of actuarial students across Canada. I am also constantly working to improve the representation of student interests in major professional associations.

If you’re looking to get involved with ASNA, please shoot me a message at I would love to speak with you!

Jonathan Bondy, Convention Co-Chair

I will be graduating from Concordia’s Actuarial Finance program (and co-op) in December, and can’t think of a better way to enter the job market as a full-time employee than on the heels of a successful ASNA convention. I expect to graduate as an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) and would be happy to share my experience with anyone interested in reaching out to me. As co-chair, my responsibilities for the convention include oversight and direct involvement in networking with our sponsors, planning the logistics of the convention, and taking part in planning the case competition.

I am very excited to meet you in Montreal this upcoming January, and until then, I wish you the best of luck!

Hello world! My name is Stephen Scicluna and I am one of your Convention Co-Chairs for ANÉA-ASNA 2015. I am currently in my third year of study at the University of Waterloo and I aim to achieve an ASA designation by the end of my undergrad. Besides practically spending all my free time grinding for actuarial exams, I am a die-hard Pokémon fan and a retired competitive Rubik’s Cube solver. I like to characterize myself as being an enthusiastic problem-solver and love to socialize, so if you see me around please feel free to introduce yourself!

Jean-Sébastien Côté, VP Finance

Greetings fellow actuarial students, I’m Jean-Sébastien, the VP Finance of ASNA for a third year. I have the privilege again this year of being part of this incredible association that has been evolving a lot in the past few years. Our goal of connecting students to employers and promoting the actuarial profession has been incredibly successful, and we expect it to be even more successful in the near future. I look forward to seeing you all in Montreal for our next convention in 2015!

Samuel Zhong, VP Ontario

Hi everyone. My name is Samuel Zhong and I am the Vice-President Ontario of ASNA in this coming year. After being an ASNA delegate last year, it is a privilege for me to serve this great organization for another year. With the incredible delegate team of ASNA this year, I believe the convention in 2015 will be an amazing one. I look forward to meeting you at our ASNA 2015!
